Dijon writes poems that need no music, and melodies that need no words. One line into his records, and we know who he is and where he comes from. He draws as much from folk as he does from a more recent legacy of R&B, and the amalgam feels paradigm shifting. Dijon brings the streets of his Baltimore childhood into conversation over fingerpicked verses that leave us wondering what decade he's from, and then he reminds us of his youth through his sheer undeniable excitement.
